The mission of the Institute is to develop an intellectual center to provide education and training on issues that affect children who are separated from their parents across international borders. These children are at risk for victimization in many forms, including trafficking, forced gang membership, physical and sexual exploitation, detention and lengthy stays in the foster care system. The Institute creates curricula and training materials that will prepare current and future practitioners around the world to be better equipped to attend to the numerous needs of these children and their families.
