Communications Coordinator

Reports to CEO

Position Summary:

International Social Service is seeking a motivated, passionate, mission driven, organized, and detail-oriented person to join the ISS-USA team. This role will be responsible for a range of communications/marketing and some fundraising initiatives to build brand awareness, increase revenue, and enhance visibility of our organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, the Communications Coordinator will work independently and collaboratively to support the implementation of the strategic goals related to communications and fund development.

Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Manage website and blog, analytics and search engine optimization
  • Draft donor solicitation letters, campaigns and other fundraising materials
  • Increase organizational exposure by developing, implementing and managing social media strategy, creating content across social media channels, and analyzing traffic, data and analytics
  • Produce print and web-based material, including quarterly e-newsletters, annual reports, flyers, and event tools, promotions for services, conferences, new projects, etc.

Development

  • Work with the CEO, Board of Directors, and Board of Directors Development Committee to carry out communications and fundraising plans
  • Serve as the main contact for individual and major donors, maintain donor relations and communications
  • Plan and manage in-person and online fundraising events, meetings, including promotion, online registration, logistical planning, and sponsorship solicitation
  • Maintain and update the website giving, donor database (Donor Perfect), donation/payment software (Stripe), blog and email marketing software (Constant Contact)

Other

  • Represent ISS-USA at networking and other professional events
  • Recruit, screen, train and supervise interns and volunteers
  • Some administrative support of the executive director
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of a broad range of social media platforms and analytics
  • Social media and content generation
  • Experience with Canva, Word Press, Constant Contact, donor perfect preferred
  • Outstanding ability to learn unfamiliar technologies
  • Experience developing marketing materials (electronic, paper)
  • Outstanding written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
  • Video development experience a plus
  • Demonstrated experience raising funds from, and building relationships with, individuals, corporations, foundations and government entities
  • Event planning and management experience a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of external and internal partners, domestically and internationally
  • Highly effective organizational and time management skills
  • A great sense of humor
  • Willingness to ask questions
  • Ability to work remotely without a lot of supervision and maintain and be part of a team
