International Program Management Internship

About Us:

ISS-USA is the U.S. member of a global child protection and social service network. We connect vulnerable children, adults, and families, separated by a border, to the services and support they need. ISS-USA coordinates services for U.S. and non U.S. citizens returning to their countries of origin, conducts home studies, finds relatives in other countries, obtains documents such as birth certificates and adoption paperwork, provides post-placement monitoring, and acts as advocates for children reuniting with families all over the globe.

Position Overview: ISS-USA is seeking a qualified student to provide administrative and program support to the intercountry department. The International Program Management Intern will provide data entry and analysis, and program management support on a variety of organizational projects related to cross-border case management. Research and grant-writing opportunities to further develop the ISS-USA intercountry program may also arise.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist Intercountry Service Coordinator with managing service requests
  • Preparing memos and correspondence to support cross-border case management
  • Support ETO database entry
  • Assist with reporting to internal and external stakeholders requested
  • Support provision of technical assistance related to cross-border child welfare issues through research and outreach
  • Conduct research and outreach related to service requests
  • Research and assist in the preparation of grants and other fundraising activities
  • All other duties as needed and assigned
  • Special projects of mutual interest to the intern and ISS-USA.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in humanities (Public Health, Conflict Management, International Affairs, Sociology, Human Services, Non-profit leadership, etc)
  • Proficient in MS Office 365
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Works well in group as well as independently
  • Comfortable working virtually
