ISS-USA provides international services for adult adoptees, biological relatives of adoptees, and individuals searching for family members across borders. Through our global network, we assist with post-adoption tracings, biological family searches, and adoption records tracing, helping individuals reconnect with their families and access important historical records.
Our process is straightforward. ISS-USA manages cases referred by agencies or individuals in the U.S. seeking services in a foreign country, as well as cases from our international network partners that require assistance in the U.S. Through our extensive network of social work agencies and providers, we facilitate searches and reunifications in over 100 countries worldwide.
Services for Adult Adoptees/Biological Parents or Siblings of Adult Adoptees:
- Post-Adoption Tracings
Searches for the biological relatives by an adult adoptee, or searches for an adult adoptee by biological relatives. You will receive notice when the relative/adoptee is located and agrees to communicate with you. We will remain involved as long as the family deems it is helpful to have us to guide the process of reunification. - Adoption Records Tracing
Locating adoption records for any adult adoptee who was adopted through the ISS Network.*Only an adoptee can request the adoption record. You will receive a redacted (all names of non-relatives removed) copy of your entire adoption record.
Services for Family Searches:
- Searches for Biological Family
Searching for members of your biological family including non-custodial parents and siblings. You will receive notice when the relative is located and agrees to communicate with you. We will remain involved as long as the family deems it is helpful to have us to guide the process of reunification.
