University of Minnesota’s Social Welfare History Archives

The International Social Service records at the University of Minnesota include over 20,000 adoption case records from the late 1940’s to early 1970’s. These records are an internationally recognized resource on the history of transnational adoption, adoption practices and policies, and related issues as well as immigration, migration, displaced persons, and international family and immigration law.
